Tamiya 1/35 Flakpanzerwagen IV 'Mobelwagen' Kit#35237. Kit details
There is not a huge chunk of reference material on the Mobelwagen and it appears the majority ended up on the western front. The Tamiya kit is based on the final production model with flat sided armour and apparently all were delivered from the factory in an overall base coat of Dunkelgelb. The camo was applied by the work crews and the variation in patterns are clearly evident in period images.

I had primed the hull in a mixture of Tamiya's hull red and flat black and applied two thin coats of hairspray before both the base and subsequent camo applications were laid down. I then did a little bit of chipping and started painting the vehicle's tools.
A thin coat of hairspray was added to the balkenkreuz on both armoured sides using masks and again gave them a little weathering. Both the fighting compartment and the Flak 43 were left in the base colours and an application of Tamiya gloss black and steel were mixed for the barrel. A very small amount of chipping was carried out on both.
Next up was a filter (MIG tan for tritonal), a pin wash with oils and some weathering with oils and pigments. I then finished painting the tools and exhausts.
Pigments were then applied to the lower hull dry and then fixed with Pigment fixer.
The spare barrels were painted in black and gun metal.
The Flak 43 test fitted. Tamiya include a rubber insert so the gun can easily be rotated. Next up is to see if we can make the rubber band tracks presentable?
The kits rubber band tracks were weathered with enamels, acrylics and pigments and fitted to the vehicle. A small base was made up from a picture frame, floral foam and plastic card.

The
vehicle was pressed into the 'mud' and left to dry. I then concentrated
on accumulating ammo racks and crew paraphernalia and played about with
positioning until I was happy.
I have ordered a little plaque for the base so next up is to paint the accessories and complete the groundwork
Enamel wet effects and pigments were added. Foliage will be added and some ammo containers and crew gear scattered around.
Accessories painted and added. A few more details to add then it is just a matter of blending everything together.
